Make It 8 Scores Its First Spectator Article!
Dear Columbia Men’s Lacrosse alumni and friends,
Thank you again for your support of our team! It has been a busy summer for Make It 8 and the Columbia Men's Lacrosse Club and with fall upon us we are happy to announce our group's first ever mention in the Columbia Daily Spectator! The article is a lengthy feature describing what we and the Columbia Men's Lacrosse club are all about! Check us out by clicking the photo above or here: Columbia is the only Ivy without varsity men’s lacrosse. An alumni organization wants to change that.
We are excited and honored to support the Columbia Men's Lacrosse Club as it embarks on its inaugural season as an MCLA team, the highest-level club league in the country and a stepping stone to an eventual varsity program. The 2026 schedule is being developed and will feature the first-ever game between Columbia and the MCLA team America's second-oldest university, The College of William and Mary. The Founders Cup will also return this spring for its fourth running of the eight Ivy men's lacrosse clubs alongside the second playing of the Make It 8 Heritage Trophy, honoring New York City's lacrosse heritage. Please stay tuned for more exciting updates regarding the schedule!
Lastly, the team has grown and succeeded thanks to your amazing support over the last few years! Please consider supporting the team on Columbia Giving Day, coming up in less than a month on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Additional communication will be forthcoming between now and October 21 from Columbia Men's Lacrosse Club President Sean Hall SEAS '26 about the club's needs for Giving Day. Thank you again for your support of the team as it seeks to Make It 8 in Ivy Men's Lacrosse!
Sincerely,
The Make It 8 Board
