Lions Beat Beavers with Tigers Next!

Dear Columbia Men’s Lacrosse alumni and friends,

Thank you again for your support of our team!  Make It 8 congratulates the current Columbia Men's Lacrosse club on its first victory this season, an 8-7 overtime victory over the Beavers of City College of New York at Wien Stadium on March 24!  The Lions did well to hold off an improved City College team that recently received votes in the National College Lacrosse League national poll. 

This Sunday will be a historic day as the Lions welcome the Princeton Tigers to Wien Stadium for the first time since 1994!  This is the team's only early afternoon home game of the season, with the opening faceoff scheduled for shortly after 1 PM.  Alumni and fans are encouraged to cheer the team on and there will be an informal gathering with the team after the game!  This game also is the first of the Lions' 2024 Founders Cup campaign which will see them take on Penn and other New England-based Ivy rivals later this season!  Photos and video from this game and all club games will be posted on our Instagram account: www.instagram.com/makeit8lax . 

Lastly, tickets are still available for the 2024 Men's Lacrosse Annual Banquet to be held just under three weeks from now at the Columbia/Penn Club of New York!  The 2007 Columbia Men's Lacrosse Club team, winners of the only national championship in team history, will be honored that evening along with the recipient of the Chad Steele IV '92 Scholarship.  To purchase tickets please contact Banquet Chair Eric Drath '93 at (917) 957-1252 or via email at ericdrath@yahoo.com
