Lions Thrash Princeton, Yale Next!

Dear Columbia Men’s Lacrosse alumni and friends,

Thank you again for your support of our team!  Make It 8 congratulates the 2024 Columbia Men's Lacrosse club on the first win over our rivals in New Jersey in 30 years!  The Lions routed Princeton 11-2 on April 7 to snap a six-game losing streak against the Tigers dating to 1994.  Attackman Will Schinabeck '25 was one of six Lions to find the net on the day including the highlight-reel goal pictured above!

The Lions are now 3-1 on the season after defeating a nationally ranked Sacred Heart squad 11-8 this past Saturday, April 20 at Fordham!  The win over the Pioneers (#14 in the National College Lacrosse League rankings) was part of a doubleheader in the Bronx with Fordham.  The Lions also kept it close with the crosstown rival Rams (ranked #15 in the NCLL) before falling 14-10.  Goaltender Kyle Cash '25 was the Lions' defensive anchor in all three games, tallying dozens of saves!

The Lions now head into their last and most important games of the season as one of four qualifiers to the semifinals of the 2024 Ivy Club Lacrosse Championship presented by Make It 8! This Sunday, April 28 at 2 PM the Lions will take on Yale at St. Joseph's High School in Trumbull, CT.  A win will qualify the team for the final against either Penn or Dartmouth, and two wins will get the Lions their first ever Founders' Cup title!  We hope you can join us in Trumbull that day or online as the games will be streamed! Streaming action, photos and video will be posted on our Instagram account: www.instagram.com/makeit8lax .
