Stream Your Lions Sunday in Founders’ Cup Finals Broadcast!

Thank you again for your support of our team!  Make It 8 congratulates the Columbia Men's Lacrosse club on qualifying for the finals of the 2024 Ivy Club Lacrosse Championship! And for the first time ever you all will be able to see them play for the Founders’ Cup from anywhere  with an Internet connection! Tomorrow at 1 PM the Lions will take on the Big Green of Dartmouth in the first game of a three-game round robin at St. Joseph High School in Trumbull, CT. The loser of this game will play Yale at 2:30 PM and the winner will take on the Bulldogs at 4 PM. The winner of two of the three games (or one with tiebreakers) will take home the Founders’ Cup! Lions to Play Sunday for the First Founders' Cup!

Thank you again for your support of our team!  Make It 8 is proud to announce the final games of the 2023 Ivy Club Lacrosse Championship and your Lions will be in them!  Columbia will take on Penn in the second of the day's semifinals at 1:30 PM Sunday, November 12th at Connecticut Sportsplex in North Branford, CT.  Fans are welcome and we encourage you to come out and support the team as they try to become the first winner of the Make It 8 Founders' Cup!

Brown and Dartmouth will play the other semifinal immediately before the Lions' tilt with Penn at 12:15 PM.  The semifinal winners will then play each other at 4 PM with the winner taking home the Make It 8 Founders' Cup!  For updates on the day of the tournament please tune in to our Instagram account:  www.instagram.com/makeit8lax

1st Annual Ivy Lacrosse Championships

Dear Columbia Men’s Lacrosse alumni and friends,

Thank you again for your support of our team!  On an evening devoted to March Madness Make It 8 is proud to announce a bracket of its own!  The First Annual Ivy Club Lacrosse Championship presented by Make It 8 will be contested next month among seven Ivy schools. Cornell has given its regrets this year due to inability to escape snow-bound Ithaca for games. First-round contests will be played no later than Sunday, April 9 at Ivy campus sites.  Semifinals will be played by Sunday, April 23 and a final will be contested on the weekend of April 29-30.  The winner will get their team name engraved in a trophy commissioned by Make It 8, a cup to which we plan to add a name every year indefinitely!

Your Lions will take on Yale in the first round with the winner advancing to meet Penn or Princeton.  This is the first organized event involving any Ivy teams since 2016 and the first in which Columbia has participated since 2006, when the Lions finished runner-up to the host Tigers in a six-team event in New Jersey. Photos and video from the tournament games will be posted on our Instagram account: www.instagram.com/makeit8lax. 

Make It 8 is proud to promote competition among Ivy lacrosse programs, varsity or club, and sees this tournament as an essential step in the advancement of Columbia Men's Lacrosse.  We remain committed to making another tournament, one broadcast on ESPN the first weekend of May, an event hosted by a home team in New York City. Columbia Men’s Lacrosse Home Opener

Dear Columbia Men’s Lacrosse alumni and friends,

Thank you for your support of our team!  The Lions are back at Baker for their long-awaited (and once-delayed from last weekend) home opener this Sunday, April 2 against City College of New York! The opening faceoff will be shortly after 5 PM at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium.

Tomorrow's game will mark the Columbia debut of new Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator Ryan Friedman! Ryan, pictured at right, is the first paid Assistant Coach in the modern history of Columbia Men's Lacrosse and we are so happy to have him join us! A native of Ardsley, NY, Ryan played at Division III Hamilton College and was a teammate of current Head Coach Austin Scronce SEAS '22!  A master of the dodge down the alley, Ryan spends his time off the lacrosse field as a software engineer for Bloomberg and taking walks at the beach while the sun sets. Ryan brings a complementary skill set to Austin's defensive acumen that will significantly boost the team as it takes on its Uptown rival tomorrow, and in upcoming rivalry contests with NYU.

CU Lions vs. Fordham

The Lions are back on the road this weekend seeking their first win after two solid efforts against nationally ranked foes Hudson Hellfire (Army's club team) and Union College last weekend at West Point! 

This Sunday, March 5 at 2:30 PM the Lions face off against crosstown rival Fordham at their Rose Hill campus in the Bronx. This game will be followed by a second tilt against the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers at approximately 3:45 PM.
